THE NATURE OF TIME
Celebrating the Japanese spirituality of time brought to life with the pride and spirit of Takumi.
Grand Seiko: A Masterpiece of Japanese Craftsmanship, Both Inside and Out. Grand Seiko timepieces represent the pinnacle of Seiko Watch Corporation’s watchmaking excellence, painstakingly handcrafted in Japan by skilled artisans.
Each Grand Seiko watch upholds the hallmark standards of exquisite Japanese precision, exceptional durability, and unparalleled legibility.
The essence of watchmaking lies in the ability to measure time with enduring precision, a challenge that Grand Seiko has passionately embraced since the debut of the first Grand Seiko in 1960. For over five decades, Grand Seiko has quietly and meticulously crafted some of the most accurate timepieces the world has ever seen.
In Japan, Grand Seiko operates two studios, each in a unique location. The Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi is in the mountainous Iwate prefecture, while the Shinshu Watch Studio is in the picturesque Shinshu region.
Despite distinct histories, both uphold Grand Seiko’s rigorous in-house manufacturing standards.
The three movements at the heart of Grand Seiko
Three types of movements are used in the Grand Seiko collection:
Mechanical ーfrom the Hi-Beat 36,000 to 28,800 vph.
Spring Drive ーbringing together mechanical and electronic watchmaking for the best of both worlds
Quartz ーExclusive quartz movements with uniquely high functionality
Watches inspired by Nature
Nature’s omnipresence is remarkable. You’re often just a step away from its various elements: the sky, a gentle breeze, shimmering lakes, or dappled tree shade.
These natural wonders have profoundly influenced Grand Seiko’s Micro Artist Studio in Shiojiri, shaping the brand’s 2021 collection.
